Brass Idols, Diyas & Care: Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions customers ask us most about our handcrafted brass idols, diyas, urlis and décor, made by artisans in Aligarh, India.

Who makes Gayatri Heritage brass products?

Gayatri Heritage is a brass handicraft maker based in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, founded over 25 years ago by Manish Kumar. Every idol, diya, urli and décor piece is handmade by artisans in Aligarh using traditional techniques passed down through generations.

What do you sell?

More than 1,100 handcrafted brass products: about 540 brass idols (Ganesh, Lakshmi, Radha Krishna, Shiva, Hanuman, Nataraja, Balaji and more), around 125 brass diyas and oil lamps, 120 urlis, 115 wall décor pieces, plus pooja items such as chowkis, jhulas, kalash and shankh, brass bells, candle stands and animal figurines.

Are your products solid brass?

Yes. Our idols, diyas, urlis and décor are made of brass. A small number of listed items are copper or German silver, and those are named as such on their product pages.

How long does delivery take?

Most products are made to order. Delivery usually takes 6 to 8 working days within India and 10 to 12 working days for international orders. If an item is not in stock, please allow 10 to 15 days for production and delivery. You receive tracking details by email once your order ships.

Do you ship outside India?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Contact us on WhatsApp at +91-6397597020 for shipping rates and timelines to your country.

Can I cancel my order?

Orders cannot be cancelled once placed, because most pieces are handcrafted specifically for you after you order.

What is your return and refund policy?

If your item arrives damaged or you receive the wrong item, raise a request within 4 to 7 days of delivery with an uncut, unedited video of the package being opened. Once approved and the product is returned, refunds are processed within 7 to 10 working days to the original payment method.

Is there a warranty on brass idols?

Select brass god statues carry a 1-year limited replacement warranty if the colour fades naturally despite proper care. Damage from drops, harsh cleaning chemicals, outdoor use or water exposure is not covered.

How do I clean and care for brass idols and diyas?

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cotton cloth and keep the piece in a dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. Handle with clean, dry hands. Do not use harsh chemicals, acidic cleaners, steel wool or hard brushes, as these damage the finish. For a diya, let it cool fully, wipe away oil residue with a soft cloth and dry it completely before storing.

Which size brass idol is right for a home temple?

Measure the inside height of your mandir first and choose an idol that leaves some space above it. Idols of about 4 to 8 inches suit most compact home mandirs and shelves, 9 to 14 inches suit larger mandirs and pooja rooms, and idols of 18 inches and above work as a centrepiece in a living room, entrance or office. The height of every product is listed in its title and on its product page.

Why do two pieces of the same product look slightly different?

Each piece is cast and finished by hand, so small differences in carving, texture or shade are natural. They are a mark of handmade work, not a defect.

Do you make custom brass idols or take bulk and corporate orders?

Yes. We make custom brass statues and décor to your size and design, and offer special prices for wholesale and corporate gifting orders. Write to us on WhatsApp at +91-6397597020 or email info@gayatriheritage.com.
